The 3 Best Summer Seafood Dishes

Oct 11, 2019 | North Beach Fish Camp

Where do we even begin! The hot, humid summer in Jacksonville calls for cold drinks and fresh salads. But, it also calls for light pasta dishes and locally sourced seafood. The last thing you want after a long muggy day is a piping hot dish loaded with cream. Not sure what to order this season? Don’t you worry, the North Beach Fish Camp crew has got ‘ya covered.
Keep it Seasonal with a Broiled Seafood Platter
Lowcountry, Beaufort, Frogmore Stew…whatever you call it, broiled seafood and veggies are the perfect complement to a hot summer evening. We prepare ours with fresh cod, shrimp, scallops and a to-die-for lemon parsley butter.

Traditional Lowcountry boils typically focus on crab and crayfish, which means what we’re serving up at the Fish Camp is a Jacksonville twist on a classic. We may be biased, but the combination of the fresh seafood and housemade compound butter blows the traditional broil out of the water.

Round out your meal with a Bulleit Passion Fruit Lemonade made with Bulleit bourbon, passion fruit syrup and housemade sour.
Spicy Linguini is Proof that Pasta can be a Summer Dish
When many people think of pasta, they think of 1,500 calories and a whole stick of butter. Now when we think of pasta, we’re all about keeping it light and flavorful. Our chefs create the perfect dish that perfectly combines seafood and authentic pasta — spicy clam linguini with garlic, tomato and parsley.

Thanks to the tomato-based sauce, this entree is light enough for even a mid-summer lunch. Compliment your pasta with a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio.
Elevate Your Sandwich Experience with a Salmon B.L.T.
Salmon…on a B.L.T.? Oh yeah, we went there. This is one of the most popular lunch items at North Beach Fish Camp for a reason. We grill a fresh salmon filet until the most perfect sear develops. Then, we serve it on sandwich bread with Carol’s pickled zucchini and housemade tartar sauce. It’s just too good for words.

If you’re coming in for a much-needed long lunch, stay awhile with a cocktail or two. Our favorite way to elevate the salmon B.L.T. is with our fresh white sangria or Key West daiquiri.
