5 Tips To Planning Your Next Private Event

Nov 24, 2015 | Event

Planning a private event is not an easy undertaking.  In theory, the whole idea of planning a private event may sound pretty simply.  You get a restaurant, invite a bunch of guests, they arrive, and you all enjoy a great night.  Seems pretty straightforward right?  This could not be any farther from the truth.  Planning a private event for parties big or small takes a lot of time, care, and attention to detail.  Planning is the word that really needs to be highlighted here as you need to be on the ball from the second you decide to hold the private event right through to the end where you are paying the restaurant and everyone is going home happy.

There are tips that you can follow to help you plan for your next private event.  Whether it is a private event with friends and family, a corporate function, they are all one in the same in terms of the preparation steps that you are going to have to take.  This includes everything from thinking about the guests, scheduling, making sure the restaurant of choice is available and that they will work with you to hold the event, and so on.  When you plan ahead, your private event should go off without any issues at all.

Contact the Restaurant Early

You want to contact your restaurant of choice very early when you are planning a private event.  Once you have the date nailed down, reach out to us at Julington Creek Fish Camp so that we can get you on the schedule.  The earlier that you do this the easier it is going to be to guarantee the date that you are looking to get.  The last thing you want to do is to send out invitations, plan the event, and then call the restaurant to book a few weeks later, only to find we have another private event booked here already that exact same night.  Step one is picking the date and locking it in with us at Julington Creek Fish Camp.

Constant Communication

Communication is also going to be extremely important with us at Julington Creek Fish Camp as well as with the guests that you are inviting.  You want to keep the lines of communication open at all times so that you have a firm understanding of how many people are going to be coming to the event, what the table set-up is going to look like, music, anything you can think of.  The more you communicate, the clearer that everything is going to be for everyone involved.

See the Venue In-Person

So many people plan a private event based on pictures of a restaurant that they see online.  Come to us directly at Julington Creek Fish Camp if you have never been here before.  When you visit our restaurant we are going to be able to give you an in-person visual tour so that you can put real images to the pictures.  What a restaurant looks like online in professional photos may be very different than what it looks like in-person.

Provide Directions and Timing to Guests

This gets back to communication, but when you are planning a private event you want to be sure directions and timing instructions are given to each guest.  This is going to help you avoid people going to the wrong restaurant, arriving too early or too late, and so on.

Relax, Everything is Planned

Once you are on top of everything from a planning perspective, try to relax and take a deep breath.  The private event is going to be an absolute blast, a memorable time for all involved.  When you are in constant communication with everyone it takes a lot of the weight off of your shoulders so that you can focus on enjoying the party ahead.
Private events are very memorable social experiences.  Whether it is a corporate event, an engagement party, anniversary, birthday bash, and so on, you are going to have a group of individuals that are there with the goal to have a good time.  Proper planning will ensure that the private event is nothing but a success from start to finish.
